Dean Souden Named Lake Michigan College
Executive Dean of Career Education
BENTON
TOWNSHIP, MI - Lake Michigan College has announced that Dean
F. Souden has joined the College as its Executive Dean of Career
Education.
Souden was most recently the executive director
of the Business and Community Institute and M-TEC facility at
Lansing Community College. He has more than 15 years of experience
in higher education administration along with private sector
experience in business and industry.
"Dean Souden brings senior-level experience
and a keen awareness of the marketplace for career education
that will serve Lake Michigan College well," stated LMC
President Dr. Randall R. Miller. "His leadership will help
us to focus on the continuing success and growth of our career
instructional division along with community and business services
programs."
At LMC, Souden will be responsible for all instructional
programs in Career Education, the Community and Business Services
department and the supervision of the College's M-TEC facility.
At Lansing Community College, Souden oversaw the
development and management of the divisional strategic and business
plan, including an assessment of the development needs of the
greater business community. He also established marketing and
sales plans to expand the school's market segments and businesses
served.
Earlier in his career, Souden worked for four
years as the assistant to the dean of students at LCC. Prior
to that position, he was the Dean of Students at Alpena Community
College for six years and assistant dean of students and associate
director of admissions at Olivet College.
His private sector work includes experience in
management, sales, consulting and marketing.
Souden earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics
at Olivet College. He went on to obtain a Master of Arts in
Higher Education Administration from Michigan State University
where he also participated in a Higher Education Administration
doctoral program.
